Combining elegance and edginess, humour and fragility, Roei’s jewellery offers a perspective on the workings of time. Roei had the opportunity to collaborate on designing an outfit for rapper Nicki Minaj, yet on the day of the performance, his mother passed from cancer. The collection works as a symbol of both Roei’s work opportunity and his mother’s cancer journey, intertwining fashionable touches that are recognisably Minaj, with insect-like beauty paying homage to his mother’s jewellery and artwork. Roei’s pieces appear as they could be worn on stage by Minaj, an amusing yet sentimental body of work.
